Queens Room Glass Partitions

Post  Scott on Sat Oct 02, 2010 7:18 pm

I'm betting these beautiful glass etched partitions were sealed up in their spaces within the bulkheads when they remodelled the Queens Room. I remember them being closed on numerous occasions to seal off the main room from the outer promenades for private functions. When closed the Quarter Deck became a completely different place and was just beautiful.

What do you think?

I had no idea they had ever been there. It makes sense to make it a "private" room, the curtains worked ok though. I would love to know what happened to them.

Yes those doors although having a good style were a nightmare for us Public Room Staff on the later years does doors never functioned well mostly were jammed twited etc.If i do recall right they were in all removed in the 1994 refit.
